Dan Erik Yokay

Erik is a Swedish native who came to the Equestrian Center at Twinwood after 8 years at Enterprise Farm in Rhinebeck, NY and Wellington, FL. Erik laid his foundation in riding and horsemanship at the prestigious National Equestrian school of Sweden, Strömsholm where he studied until 2007. He has since trained and worked for Olympians Per Sandgaard and Pether Markne in Sweden, Duncan Inglis in Hickstead, UK and after his move to the US also assisted Ida Mattisson for over 6 years in NY and TX. Erik has competed in Wellington successfully in dressage up to Intermediate II and in show jumping up to 4’7 (Level 7). He has helped start many young horses under saddle as well as helped rehab horses with a wide variety of injuries, bringing high performing horses back into the show ring.

Erik’s experience has given him a broad spectrum of expertise for the training of horses in both disciples of dressage and jumping. Erik feels strongly that horses and riders thrive best in programs that combined a variety of training methods including; dressage and jumping arena schooling, cavaletties, gymnastic grids, natural fences and on and off site hacking.
